Ye are the Salt of the Earth
by: Prof. Sandee
2000-2002

What did Jesus mean when He said, Ye are the salt of the earth. If the salt loses its savor wherewith shall it be salted? [Matthew 5:13]. I present to you the word it is refering back to earth. If the salt loses its savor wherewith shall the earth be salted? Why is it so important that we be the salt of the earth? What is salt's job? Light of the world makes sense, but Salt?

Let's go back to the Old Testament and get an idea of how salt was used. We are told in Leviticus 2:9 and 13 that salt was used in the offerings. The offering "smelled" good to God. I surmise that we, as Salt, make the world "smell" good to God. We are what is between this world and God's wrath. But one day will come and God will remove the Salt (us) and then His wrath will be unleashed. Jesus called it a time of tribulation like the world has never seen [Matthew 24:21].

So look up. The rapture is real. Jesus is coming soon.
